The Granville has carved out an excellent reputation for serving modern European food of the highest quality and is featured in The Good Food Guide and other major listings.
Full of character, The Granville is divided into a comfortable sofa area, a bar area and an eating area, with a central fireplace. Outside, there is an enclosed garden with a patio area, where up to 40 customers can dine al fresco.
The bar serves traditional Kentish cask ale and distinctive international lagers and offers a good selection of wine by the glass.
We are delighted to announce that we re-opened on Thursday 16th July. We are so excited to be welcoming you all back to The Granville. We hope you are well and have stayed safe over the last few months.
We have been working hard on what will be the ‘new normal’ for the foreseeable future at The Granville. Please be assured our only goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment for our customers and our team, so that everyone can relax and enjoy the hospitality we’re known for. We have given careful consideration to every decision we have made in navigating our way through this new normal. Please bear with us, as things may take longer, we may have to make changes – but this is a new journey for all of us.

GIFT VOUCHERS UPDATE
Unfortunately due to implications of the recent VAT changes we have had to pause the purchase of our Gift Vouchers for now. Please be reassured that all previously purchased Gift Vouchers are still valid and can of course still be redeemed. Thank you for your understanding.
Here is a summary of the key differences you may notice when you visit us, if you would like to read our full Company COVID Policy please download it here.
Bookings & Group Sizes
We are taking bookings for our inside tables. We would advise booking your table in advance – either via our website or over the phone, as we have fewer tables than usual due to social distancing. For tables of over 6 people, you will need to call the restaurant to book, this allows us to re-position the tables as necessary. We have carefully considered the position of all our tables, we politely ask that you do not move them, without speaking to a member of our team first. Please note we are not taking bookings for our garden tables. Thank you.
Arrival (inc Track & Trace)
A member of our team will greet all our customers on arrival, explaining everything you need to know to have a safe and enjoyable visit with us. We will ask for you to use our hand sanitiser station and guide you to your table. We will also take down your contact details, as per the Government’s guidelines to collect information if ‘Track & Trace’ is needed.
Unfortunately, our bar area is not available for customers to sit and drink at, if you are sat at an inside table please do not approach our bar area to order additional drinks or to make payment, all service will be table service.
We will be running a slightly reduced menu for the time being, but don’t worry it still features all the Granville favourites. We will provide you with a menu, which will be only used once and will be recycled afterwards. The Steak Night Promotion and our Set Lunch menus are currently not available, we will let you know as soon as we have these back.
How to order & your table
We will be doing our very best to keep a safe distance when taking orders and serving your table. The tables will look quite bare as they will not be pre-laid. Cutlery, napkins, condiments will be served to you after you have ordered.
If we have tables available and you would like to sit outside our Host will direct you to a table outside. To place your order & pay (at the same time) please come to our screened area of the bar. Your drinks and food will then be served to you at your table. Please do not wait at the bar for your drinks.
For both inside and garden tables we will ask if you can, kindly, stack and position your plates at the edge of your table or on our clearing stations (our Host will explain this to you) this will allow for reduced contact in clearing your tables. Thank you for in advance for your help with this.
To reduce the handling of cash, we are cashless for all food and drinks.
Please be assured there is regular cleaning going on at The Granville. Our top priority will be all frequent touchpoints and the toilets. Our payment machines will be cleaned after every use. There are several hand sanitiser stations around the restaurant. Tables and chairs will be cleaned after each customer, we have allowed extra time in the turnaround of tables for this. At every point we are following the highest standards of cleaning through-out the restaurant and in the kitchen.
Toilets will be regularly cleaned by our team, wearing PPE.
There will be a lot more single-use items now at The Granville, we are very conscious of this and will be ensuring that we will be recycling as efficiently as possible.
Due to the new guidelines our garden toys will not be available. We also, sadly can’t provide colouring pencils for children, so please do feel free to bring your own.
We are currently taking part in the Government’s Eat Out to Help Out Scheme – this offers all our customers 50% off all food and soft drinks up to the value of £10 per person every Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday in August! A great deal to take advantage of this Month!
LIVE MUSIC EVERY SUNDAY at The Granville
Unfortunately due to the new Covid guidelines, we are not currently able to have Live Music at The Granville. But as soon as we can, we will be back up and running with our Sunday live music sessions from 6pm-8pm. A variety of local artists perform in the bar area creating a great atmosphere to make your Sunday Evenings more enjoyable at The Granville.
BURGER MONDAYS –
Every Monday, get our delicious burgers for just £10! Simple, delicious, made fresh from properly-sourced British beef and the best ingredients possible. Offering more choice, big flavours and tempting tastes for every palate, all served in a brioche bun with chips.
And why not wash it down with a pint of our finest local ale. What’s better than a good burger, some great beers, a warm welcome and some great company? Sounds like a winning combination to us!!!
Tuesday – STEAK NIGHT
Unfortunately, we will not be having steak night for a few weeks until we are settled into our ‘New Normal’ here at The Granville. Don’t worry we still have a selection of steaks on our menu, but out Tuesday Deal will not be available at the moment. Thank you for your understanding.
